Basketball in the 20th century was the start of basketball becoming a skill level sport. When basketball was created in the 1800s, it was just simply putting the ball in the hoop. But when 7 major players in the 60s-80s showed up the game was changed forever!

    1960s SPACE RACE.
Spanning from the launch of the Soviet Union's "Sputnik 1" - an artificial satellite about the size of a basketball - on October 4th, 1957, until America's "Eagle" landed Neil Armstrong and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin on the moon in July of 1969, the space race took over more than a decade.Beginning with the fall of Nazi Germany, German scientists surrendered to American forces. They wished to continue their work on rockets and missiles in the United States. One scientist, Wernher Magnus Maximilian Freiherr von Braun, wished to continue his own mission; to walk on the moon. He was placed on NASA's team, which was officially established on July 29, 1958. By that time, the Russian's had already entered space.
